Reports suggest that the Great British institution of builder’s tea is under threat from the growth of the UK ‘coffee culture’.

After years of being unchallenged as the drink of choice on building sites up and down the land it now appears that as many carpenters, scaffolders and electricians are just as likely to opt for a frothy latte, cappuccino or americano as they are for a mug of English Breakfast.

The report also showed that health conscious construction workers are taking less sugar than ever before, with only one percent opting for three (or more) sugars in their chosen brew.

Another surprise was that of the loyal tea drinkers a sizeable proportion of 11% had left behind the traditional favourite blend of English Breakfast and could now be found sipping Earl Grey all day!

What do you say workers of Britain? What’s your daytime tipple?
